Thinking caps

Updated: Apr 12, 2020

“Everyone has come to this world with a purpose, all we have to do is find it and fulfill it”

As a teenager, child, youth, or even an adult; all of us have something that we can do for the world or our country. Some people are pretty ambitious they might have huge scale plans. But with this worldwide pandemic going on we should perhaps shift to smaller, more grounded ideas. An idea does not have to be a big one, because it is the little things that matter. “Little drops of water make a mighty ocean”.

If we can pool in these ideas, we can make everything better. For example, let`s start with our dividers on the roads, if you have noticed there is something growing in between it, but the problem here is that either it’s too much of a jungle or too little of a garden, it’s never been in that perfect “Goldilocks Zone”. We cannot always depend on the guys from the corporations, as they’ll be busy cleaning and disinfecting the entire area. Instead of cribbing and complaining , we should pick up some choppers, a few saplings some watering cans and get it better, chop off those weeds, plant saplings in the places with a lesser amount of plant coverage and get it all better. What about the bases of the road dividers, we cannot leave it as it is, we can decorate that part too with a bit of paint, decorations some glitter and what not. There is a lot that we can do if we put our minds to it.

Another thing is that if you’ve seen, there is a space between two pillars of a flyover, what do you mostly see there? What do you think we can use that space for? A lot of ideas might come to mind. But are we taking steps to implement these ideas…NO! Not at all. This gap is getting completely wasted, half the time we see people living or sleeping after getting completely wasted and also sometimes I’ve noticed weeds conducting “who grows faster “competitions. My opinion is “kick all of them out, throw away all those alcohol bottles, relocate those people”. Me coming from a family who runs a tyre related business would say use old tyres and make decorations out of the those tyres.

Imagine this you’re looking at a very beautiful tree, all of a sudden you’re snapped out of your reverie when you reach the bottom, what did you see? A dead body, a creepy obsidian skull, or something even worse……the forever dreaded Garbage, stinky, foul…..EW! What a way to lose a perfectly good sight. But imagine this if there were pretty flowers instead of garbage, how nice it would be to look at that.

Parks, don’t we all love them, all for different reasons too. But what if it’s a park that you’ve almost grown up in, wouldn’t you want to do something for it or at least keep it in a good condition. There is so much more that we can do, patch up garbage cans or if you’re not a garbage person use plastic bottles as planters, make a few bird baths lay down some feeders or just keep some water bowls outside for the street dogs and cats.

I could go on and on and on about these ideas. Like I said there are so many ways that we can contribute even in the safety of our own homes, we can hang these feeders on the windows of our homes or if you’re sitting at home bored out of your mind, relax and put on your thinking caps and start brainstorming. Everyone’s thinking path is unique, that’s good. The more the idea is unique the better. Always remember that:

EACH IDEA MATTERS!

Hi Mahima! The mundane spectacle around us taken as a matter of fact, triggers you to think and come up with suggestions as how it can be transformed! I like the new paradigm shift where the youth have started taking things into their hands and raring to go!Let your words be translated into action! All the best!

I loved this Mahima!!! Each one of us can make a difference by doing small things. It doesn't have to be big. Keep water for birds and animals to drink from. Feed birds, strays. Don't litter and when you see something, don't hesitate to clean it up God bless you. Nandita aunty.
